Twenty Transformations

[Voice Post]

I'm glad that nightmare curse is over, as it seemed to cause a lot of problems among everyone, but I can hardly say that it was the hardest thing we've been doled this month. At least no one was punching anyone anymore, then again, that one was due to a specific brand of stupidity. Really, who decides to punch the deities?

But I think perhaps the hardest is seeing Sam Tyler and Chris Skelton leave the City. They shall be missed.

[/Voice Post]

Left on Cameron Lynde's desk, with a note: Det. Tyler asked for the report, figured you would want it, as it might be especially useful now.

In the beginning, the Special Task Force was organized through the Captain of the Ankh-Morpork Night Watch. Our first recruit volunteered due to his proficiency in a unique sort of strength. He was taken on as a permanent member of the Task Force because of this, as well as his specific knowledge of magical containment. He was sworn in, and given a run-down of the basic rules of being on the force. He showed willing time and time again to show up when we needed him for his talents, or sometimes when we just needed an extra hand.

After we saw that he worked out well in our force, we let it be known that we would be willing to hire someone up in the special forces unit. In cases where there were helpful people that we felt could help us with something we were missing, and were actually interested in assisting us, as opposed to taking us down from the inside, we went through the same process as the full-time officers.

They receive the same pay as a starting lance-constable, but only on the days that they work. If they show good progress, repeated help, or an extreme assist when needed, then they might ascend rank, no higher than Corporal.

Most of the Special Task Force were not needed for emergency purposes, and could be contacted by traditional messages. In case of emergency, however, there was a clacks system method that set off a message to certain guards with bells who would run around alerting anyone in the immediate area who was trained, that they were needed.

[OoC: She's not mentioning that Sam and Chris were Police Force because she doesn't want the general public to know that the force is low. Also, pretend that the report goes on, and is more in-depth, because this is lacking as I really only remember the Librarian, Downspout, and Swires from the task force.]

Ah.

Someone called Captain Hammer actually punched a deity in the face, so they got back at everyone by making some people spontaneously punch people at random intervals.

What kind of stupid revenge is that?

voice;

[identity profile] badhairlifetime.livejournal.com 2011-07-29 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
A revenge where people were getting angry at one another, before, after, and during the time where they were punching at either their friends, or complete strangers. It's also something that could have been a lot worse.

voice;

[identity profile] heliolatrous.livejournal.com 2011-07-29 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. They're just playing with everyone.

voice;

[identity profile] heliolatrous.livejournal.com 2011-07-29 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
They could kill you if they wanted to, but they'd rather just have you as pets.

voice;

[identity profile] badhairlifetime.livejournal.com 2011-07-31 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I find it rather encouraging that more often than not they don't want to kill us.

A pet wouldn't be so bad, if they treated us better.

voice;

[identity profile] heliolatrous.livejournal.com 2011-07-31 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
You'd rather be their pet than die?

[ This is somehow confusing to him. ]

voice;

[identity profile] badhairlifetime.livejournal.com 2011-07-31 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
If they actually treated us better, or left us alone, yes. There wouldn't be a difference between them or any other god, then. You see it a different way?

[You gods and your not understanding how people work.]

voice;

[identity profile] heliolatrous.livejournal.com 2011-07-31 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
...Ganymede tried to die so he wouldn't have to.

voice;

[identity profile] badhairlifetime.livejournal.com 2011-07-31 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know who that is. Is he in the City?

voice;

[identity profile] heliolatrous.livejournal.com 2011-07-31 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Not anymore.

...does that mean I'm a worse god than these? Since no one's trying to die to get away from them!

voice;

[identity profile] badhairlifetime.livejournal.com 2011-07-31 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Wait, this isn't what she thought he meant.] That depends. What did you do to him?

voice;

[identity profile] badhairlifetime.livejournal.com 2011-08-01 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
If you want the answer to your question.

voice;

[identity profile] heliolatrous.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
I made sure he'd live forever...

voice;

[identity profile] heliolatrous.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
I can do that because I'm a god.

voice;

[identity profile] badhairlifetime.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
You just made him unable to die, just like that?

voice;

[identity profile] heliolatrous.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
...and I kept him in a garden.

voice;

[identity profile] badhairlifetime.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[A bit like the City after all, isn't it?]

Did you do anything when he asked to be released?

voice;

[identity profile] heliolatrous.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
He could find the exit if he really wanted to.

voice;

[identity profile] badhairlifetime.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
He was alright with the arrangement?

voice;

[identity profile] badhairlifetime.livejournal.com 2011-08-02 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
How did the entire thing start, in the first place?
